Role Description The Barista role at Zia Cafe is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar. The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages, as well as assisting with light food preparation according to established recipes and standards. Daily tasks include greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments, and providing responsive, courteous customer service. The Barista maintains a clean and organized work area, restocks supplies, and follows hygiene, safety, and quality guidelines. The role also involves working as part of a team to support smooth cafe operations, including opening and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with guests and team members. Candidates should possess Barista skills, including coffee preparation, beverage crafting, and familiarity with espresso machines and related equipment. Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to provide attentive, friendly, and solution-focused support to guests. Candidates should possess Food Preparation skills for handling ingredients, assembling menu items, and following food safety practices. Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality environment is beneficial. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting. Basic math skills for handling cash, card transactions, and order accuracy. Flexibility to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are an advantage.
