Job Summary The High Voltage (HV) Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment. The role ensures the safe and reliable operation of transformers, switchgear, substations, generators, and associated electrical distribution systems while complying with company procedures, electrical standards, and HSE regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Operate, inspect, and maintain high-voltage electrical systems (11kV, 33kV, or higher as applicable).

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HV switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, cables, and substations.

• Troubleshoot electrical faults using electrical drawings, test equipment, and diagnostic tools.

• Carry out isolation, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and permit-to-work procedures before maintenance activities.

• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, and functional testing using approved testing instruments.

• Inspect HV panels, busbars, relays, protection systems, and electrical connections for defects.

• Monitor transformer oil levels, temperatures, cooling systems, and protection devices.

• Perform switching operations in accordance with approved procedures and authorization levels.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment history.

• Assist during commissioning, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.

• High Voltage Authorization/Competency Certificate (preferred).

• Minimum 5 years of experience in high-voltage electrical maintenance.

• Experience in industrial plants, oil & gas, facilities management, utilities, power generation, or large commercial facilities.

• Hands-on experience with transformers, HV switchgear, substations, and protection systems.
