The Project Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day site supervision, ensuring that construction activities are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines. The role involves close coordination with contractors, tracking of RFIs and submittals, and supporting quality inspections to maintain project standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Site Supervision & CoordinationOversee daily site activities to ensure work progress aligns with project schedules.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants on-site.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and safety standards.
Monitor site manpower, materials, and equipment utilization.
2. Contractor Performance MonitoringTrack contractor progress against baseline schedules.
Identify delays, risks, and inefficiencies, and report to management.
Ensure contractors adhere to contractual obligations and quality standards.
Participate in progress meetings and provide technical input.
3. RFI (Request for Information) ManagementPrepare, review, and track RFIs raised by contractors.
Coordinate with consultants/design teams to obtain timely responses.
Maintain RFI logs and ensure proper documentation and closure.
4. Submittals Tracking & ReviewMonitor submission and approval of material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documents.
Review submittals for compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate with consultants for approvals and follow up on pending items.
5. Quality Inspection SupportAssist in conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Support QA/QC team in inspections, snagging, and closing non-conformances.
Ensure works are executed as per approved ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
Verify materials delivered on site meet project requirements.
6. Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate site records including daily reports, progress updates, and logs.
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports.
Ensure proper filing of RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and correspondence.
7. Health & Safety ComplianceRequirementsQualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in construction/site engineering.
Experience in real estate / building construction projects preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, drawings, and QA/QC procedures.
Familiarity with RFI and submittal processes.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of project management tools is a plus.
