About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to support the Reservoir & Geosciences (RGS) division, with a focus on Petrophysics data stewardship. This role plays a critical part in managing, integrating, and analyzing subsurface and reservoir data to support decision-making across geoscience, production, and drilling domains.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Integration
- Serve as the Data Steward for Petrophysics data types, including logs, core data, fluids, and pressures in raw, processed, and interpreted forms.
- Support the delivery and maintenance of Geoscience and Reservoir Management databases, including thecompany Corporate Reservoir Database.
- Ensure timely quality control (QC), loading, and delivery of reservoir data in compliance with confidentiality protocols.
- Identify and implement opportunities to connect databases and eliminate data duplication.
- Optimize data and database integrity across corporate, reference, and project databases.
Data Analytics & Visualization
- Support the development and use of RGS data analytics tools and dashboards.
- Source, manipulate, and prepare subsurface and reservoir data for analysis and visualization.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality and implement enhancements aligned with CMS data standards.
Workflow & Process Optimization
- Define, map, and deliver efficient data workflows, particularly within Petrophysics and Reservoir domains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration across RGS and other company entities.
Job Dimensions
- Provide data management and analytics support to a division of approximately 130–150 staff, including geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and production technologists.
- Work with extensive datasets from over 1,000 boreholes and more than 30 years of production data.
- Support ongoing operations including drilling from 4–5 rigs and 4D seismic acquisition and interpretation.
Skills
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in reservoir engineering data management and/or data analysis.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of geoscience and reservoir data and applications.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C++, Visual Basic, and SQL.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, with strong decision-making and initiative-taking abilities.
- Language: Fluent in English.
