Job Overview:

As the Category Manager for Gaming, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for our gaming product category, including video games, consoles, accessories, and related products. Your primary goal will be to drive category growth, enhance customer experience, and ensure Snoonu’s gaming offerings are competitive, profitable, and aligned with customer needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to manage product assortment, vendor relationships, inventory, and pricing.


(Some of) What you will be doing:


1) Category Strategy and Growth:

⦁ Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow the Gaming category, including new product lines, customer acquisition, and sales targets.

⦁ Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

⦁ Define the category vision, goals, and KPIs, ensuring they align with overall company objectives.


2) Product Assortment & Selection:

⦁ Curate and manage the product assortment, ensuring the category includes the latest and most relevant gaming products (consoles, games, accessories, etc.).

⦁ Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to source products, negotiate deals, and ensure the best pricing and quality.

⦁ Continuously assess and update the product mix based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales performance.


3) Vendor & Supplier Management:

⦁ Build and nurture strong relationships with key gaming product suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors.

⦁ Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional deals with vendors to optimize profitability and product availability.

⦁ Collaborate with vendors to plan and execute product launches, campaigns, and promotions that align with customer demand.


4) Inventory and Demand Management:

⦁ Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability, avoiding stockouts and minimizing overstock situations.

⦁ Forecast demand for gaming products based on historical data, market trends, and seasonal fluctuations.

⦁ Work with internal teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and timely product delivery to meet customer expectations.


5) Pricing & Promotions:

⦁ Develop and implement pricing strategies to remain competitive in the market while driving profitability.

⦁ Plan and execute promotional campaigns, discounts, and offers to boost sales and attract new customers.

⦁ Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content and advertisements that drive traffic and sales within the Gaming category.


6) Customer Experience & Engagement:

⦁ Ensure a seamless customer experience by maintaining product quality, clear product descriptions, and up-to-date listings.

⦁ Monitor customer feedback and reviews to improve product offerings and address any concerns.

⦁ Stay up to date with gaming trends and community discussions to maintain a pulse on customer interests and preferences.


7) Data Analysis & Reporting:

⦁ Analyze sales data, customer insights, and product performance metrics to identify trends and areas of opportunity.

⦁ Generate regular reports to track category performance against goals, including sales growth, profit margins, and inventory turnover.

⦁ Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies, optimize product listings, and improve sales performance.


Attitude matters most but do you have any of these?


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in category management, product management, or e-commerce, with a focus on the gaming industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of gaming products, including video games, consoles, accessories, and gaming technology.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity within the gaming industry.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that drive category growth and profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms, inventory management systems, and promotional tools.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming community and culture.
