Overview
The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures within the organization.
This role ensures compliance with local, , and international HSE regulations, and works to create a safe working environment for all employees.
The HSE Manager will lead the HSE team, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide HSE training, awareness sessions, and toolbox talks to employees, contractors, and visitors to enhance safety culture and ensure HSE competency.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), safety statistics, and environmental metrics to senior management.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into project planning, execution, and close-out phases.
- Manage emergency response plans, including drills and simulations, to ensure the organization is prepared to handle potential emergencies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders on HSE matters and ensure timely reporting of incidents and compliance issues.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance by identifying trends, sharing best practices, and driving HSE initiatives.
- Oversee the management of waste disposal, environmental monitoring, and sustainability initiatives to minimize the organization's environmental impact.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or other relevant HSE certifications are .
- Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Years Of Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Oil & Gas, Construction, or similar industries.
Technical Knowledge
- Regulatory Compliance: Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. Experience in implementing and managing HSE management systems.
- Incident Investigation and Risk Management: Proven expertise in incident investigation techniques (e.g., root cause analysis), risk assessment, and hazard identification. Ability to implement effective control measures and safety improvements.
