Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Purchasing Officer to oversee and manage the purchasing activities within a Medical field organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supervising purchasing operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and maintaining effective vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and interpret policies and procedures related to the purchasing section.
- Prepare and manage work schedules, assigning tasks and responsibilities to purchasing officers.
- Supervise purchasing activities to ensure compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
- Provide guidance and support to subordinates in solving work-related challenges.
- Recommend and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Consolidate and report on team performance and progress.
- Oversee and prioritize daily purchasing tasks, ensuring timely completion of procurement activities.
- Maintain expert knowledge of goods and services within the specialized commodity group to advise subordinates and customers effectively.
- Supervise and process purchase requisitions, orders, and related documentation.
- Ensure accurate input of purchasing data in the system and maintain organized records for reference.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve procurement-related issues.
- Monitor purchase order activities, ensuring proper coordination, updates, and follow-up with suppliers.
- Regularly brief the Purchasing Manager on departmental activities and escalate critical issues as necessary.
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other advanced computer applications.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement management, vendor relations, and contract management.
