Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
- Recommend, interpret, evaluate, and/or use information resources to help students, faculty, and employees with specific information and research needs
- Identify information, reference and research needs and fulfill these needs via reference interviews, email and other communication formats
- Support the Head, Reference and Library Services in the provision of reference and library services and the development of curriculum-embedded support for information literacy
- Create, revise and maintain online subject and resource guides — on courses, technologies, current trends and Library resources — to aid students and faculty with their research needs
- Deliver both general and tailored information literacy sessions, research classes, and orientation sessions; ensure these sessions are interactive and assessed appropriately
- Support library collection development, through review of relevant lists, knowledge of publications, feedback from users, needs identified via curriculum and accreditation reports, etc.
- Work closely with other librarians, full-time staff, part-time staff and student assistants at the Library on relevant projects
- Maintain a working knowledge of scholarly communication to support other librarians when needed
- Participate on University-wide and internal library committees as needed while promoting policy alignment with library best practice
- Remain abreast of library best practice as well as conduct and promote library research

Education and Certifications
* Master’s degree in Library and/or Information Science, from an ALA-accredited or equivalent program, is required
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in libraries or a closely related field
Language
* Fluency in written and spoken English language is required
* Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred
