Senior Analyst - Operational Risk & Business Continuity
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the implementation and continual improvement of the Operational Risk Management and Business Continuity Plan in line with QCB guidelines, and Basel standards.
- Ensure that the Bank's Operational Risk Management Framework is applied consistently according Bank’s policies & Standards to effectively identify, assess, mitigate, and manage operational risk within the Bank.
- Provide assistant in following-up with relevant departments to ensure status tracking of key Risk indicators and open incidents are closed within agreed target dates. Provide assistance in planning and coordinating the Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) testing, including any necessary training.
- Provide assistance in preparing the Operational Risk Management Information System monthly Pack. Collect needed data for this pack from the assigned departments.
- Assist in assessing emerging risks, including those related to new business, new products or significant process / business changes and propose effective solutions.
- Assist in dealing with enquiries from internal auditors and external auditors and ensuring that any identified control weakness or risks are closed in timely manner.
- Assist in planning and coordinating Operational Risk Self-Assessment (ORSA) Exercise, including periodic communications and follow-ups.
- Track and monitor open actions resulted from IDM, NPAP, ORSA including KRI. Assist in the follow-ups to ensure timely closures.
- Ensures that all relevant reports are prepared accurately as required by the Unit Head and CRO including coordination and compilation of monthly Operational Risk & Business Continuity Reports to Senior Management as per the set deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of the periodic slides for the Board risk & compliance Committee, and Operational Risk Committee to communicate the effectiveness of operational controls and reports issues and recommendations to mitigate risk/loss.
- Undertake any other duties of similar nature that are related to the department and are within the expertise and skills of the jobholder as advised by CRO.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject.
Minimum Experience:
- Preferable experience of 02 - 04 Years in Operational Risk Management.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Operational Risk processes, policies, QCB guidelines and Basel Standards.
- Proven ability to communicate complicated Operational Risk issues in a clear and concise format
- Ability to recognize control weaknesses and opportunities for improvements.
- Good negotiation skills for successful implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrable skills of working independently as well as a member of a high performing team.
- Takes initiatives and is assertive in decision-making to get work done within target dates.
