Job Purpose:
To carry out chiller maintenance activities according to chiller maintenance manual and standard work instructions. To monitor chillers during operation and ensure all the chiller parameters are within the safe limits, communicate deviations to Mechanical Engineer/ Maintenance Manager.
Day-to-day Operations
- Carry out chiller preventive, routine and breakdown maintenance and attend all service call on-time according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, work instructions, line manager directions.
- Carry out routine inspection and condition monitoring according to O&M Manuals using special tools and equipment.
- Record and fine tune daily chiller operating parameters trends as required.
- Ensure optimum usage of chiller spares and consumables. Take vibration readings in coordination with vibration analyst /Maintenance Manager (DC).
- Make sure that chiller parameters are working within the allowable range. Plan for corrections in case of any deviations of readings.
- Perform chiller loading, achieving chiller design capacity, approach temperature monitoring, monitoring evaporating pressure and condensing pressure.
- Fully conversant to know the chiller controller operation and attend any controller issues.
- Ensure the availability of chiller critical spare parts and consumable in coordination with Maintenance Manager (DC). Identify the critical tools and equipment for chiller major overhauling maintenance.
- Provide technical reports and daily updates to Maintenance Manager (DC).
- Perform chiller periodical refrigerant leak test.
- Perform chiller controller data analysis when it required.
- Dismantle chiller compressor to do the major overhauling and assembly work when required.
- Follow instructions from line manager and report to him on daily activities.
- Lead the yearly chiller tube cleaning activities and chiller tube replacement activities.
- Prepare chiller routine maintenance program in close coordination with Mechanical Engineer/Maintenance Manager
- Train the mechanical technicians and plant operators for chiller-related maintenance tasks.
- Assist plant operators for data logging during chiller startup and change over.
- Perform chiller instruments periodical calibration in close coordination with Control & Instrument team.
- Support other maintenance staff to perform other mechanical equipment maintenance work. Update the chiller maintenance activities in the equipment history card.
- Perform Equipment submittal review, FAT submittal review, T&C method statement review
- Perform technical review from the supplier for supplying spare parts and tender document review and prepare final technical evaluation report.

Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school with diploma in Mechanical Engineering ( 3 year course) /Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Chiller factory training/experience from McQuay, York, Trane, or Carrier is must
Minimum Experience:
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a similar role and industry.
