Job Overview:
The Head of Restructuring at Doha Bank is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing restructuring strategies for distressed companies, with a focus on stabilizing or generating cash flow. The role involves negotiating with non-performing borrowers to restructure or reschedule their debts, monitoring non-performing loans (NPL), and creating recovery plans to maximize collection. The incumbent will lead the Restructuring team and ensure smooth execution of daily tasks while complying with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual restructuring strategies in collaboration with the Chief of Corporate Remediation.
- Negotiate debt settlements and restructuring deals with defaulting borrowers.
- Monitor NPL restructuring activities and create recovery plans.
- Supervise the Restructuring team and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Central Bank (QCB) regulations and other relevant guidelines.
- Provide feedback to business units on credit and product policy revisions based on restructuring outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- 13-18 years of experience in the financial services/banking industry, with a focus on remedial asset management.
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking, risk management, debt restructuring, financial analysis, and legal aspects.
- Experience in managing distressed loans and recovery processes.
- Familiarity with QCB regulations and governance frameworks.
