The Senior Correspondent Banking and Control Officer will be responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of the Correspondent Banking & Control unit, ensuring efficient service delivery to foreign clients. The role involves managing the opening of forex accounts for settlement, coordinating AML reviews, conducting due diligence on correspondent banking relationships, and assisting with the assessment of suspicious activities and financial institution (FI) transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with correspondent banks to distribute and collect AML Questionnaires, and provide consolidated data to the Compliance department.
- Follow up with non-responsive correspondent banks regarding the AML review process and report updates to the Senior Officer.
- Address queries or escalate concerns from correspondent banks and the Compliance function as needed.
- Assist the Senior Officer in the timely completion of FI-related transactions referred by departments or overseas branches for approval.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on activities and issues related to the Correspondent Banking section.
- Monitor daily transactions for suspicious activities within the correspondent banking section and report findings to the appropriate authority or Compliance function.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
- 10-12 years of experience in the financial services or banking industry, with a focus on correspondent banking and international banking.
- Strong understanding of service delivery, correspondent banking practices, and financial institution transactions.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, financial statements, and operational risk management.
