About the role
We are currently recruiting for Operations Compliance Manager for Corporate Services in Doha, Qatar.
As a Operations Compliance Manager, you will provide an innovative, effective and efficient Operational Compliance Program including HS&E and data protection. You will carry out the duties and responsibilities in line with the Qatar Airways Policies and external regulatory requirements as they pertain to operations. It is necessary that you work with Corporate Services operational teams (residential, commercial, projects and transportation) CS information technology, contractors, and corporate management.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
Operational
- Design and develop an innovative, effective and efficient Compliance Program considering all aspects of operations and standard operating procedures.
- Design, develop and implement an innovative tracking system to audit and monitor areas of compliance and non-compliance.
- Responsible for implementing QR operation compliance education, training, and publicity and promotion of the Compliance Program
- Conduct third party supplier and contractor inspections to ensure adherence to contract T&C’s, regulatory requirements, and HS&E best practice.
- Conduct corporate user groups inspections reporting all findings with follow-up steps required, and to advise on all aspects of safe execution of operations.
- Investigate accidents/incidents (not limited to vehicles) with recommendations to limit reoccurrences and enhance SOP’ s to prevent future occurrences.
- Create, implement and maintain a comprehensive incident, including non-compliance, management system with real time updates and regular reporting to Senior Management.
- Evaluate, analyze all non-compliance statistics and propose actions to be taken QR wide to senior management
- Responsible for drafting and maintaining road compliance manuals and policies.
- Work with Senior Standards and Procedure specialist to ensure that all divisional policies and SOP’ s are maintained and kept up to date.
- Monitor QR Users’ and third-party suppliers to ensure compliance manuals and policies are adhered to.
- Represent Corporate Services on the Qatar Airways’ Health and Safety Committee and other compliance related committees including data protection.
- Design and develop a process for standardizing compliance awareness and non-conformance reporting and tracking to support a strong compliance culture.
- Work with Systems Manager to implement digital tools to streamline workflows to related to compliance topics
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the department.
Management & Leadership
- Establish and implement the Compliance Program objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate the Compliance Program objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
- Change management to implement the new processes across the business.

Data Protection
- Ensure that any personal data obtained and processed is treated in accordance with data protection principles followed by the Group, as well as applicable Group policies and Procedures on data protection and information security
- Consult the Groups Data Protection Officer (DPO) officer prior to making decisions on the processing, storage, retention and deletion of professional data with regards to responding to Subject Access Requests (SARs) conducting data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIAs) and identifying any personal data breach, if there is no policy or procedure that provides adequate guidance.
About you
Qualifications:
Essential
- Relevant college or university qualification to minimum bachelor’s level, with minimum seven years of job- related experience.
- Prior experience in procurement and contracts.
- Have experience in transportation incident investigations and reporting.
- Experience and qualifications in HS&E compliance.
- Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
- Driving experience, which includes customer processing, route delivery procedures, along with security and operational procedures
- Experience working in an operational & corporate compliance role.
Preferred
- Experience working in Aviation industry
Job Specific Skills:
Essential
- Must be conversant with multiple core activities performed under Operational Compliance.
- Should be able to liaise with government authorities for and behalf of QR with regards to Road Transport, Safety, and Compliance
- Should have the ability to receive and respond to management instructions and delegate work, and set clear direction.
- Should have capability to respond to emergency situations by performing the duties assigned in compliance with company policy and procedures as well as government regulations
- Assist in the preparation and formulate the conditions of road transport safety and compliance response durations for contracts awarded to “Road Transport” related service provider(s)
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Hold a valid national driving license
- Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
- Very good command of English language.
Preferred
- Able to communicate in oral and written Arabic
- Some knowledge and understanding of State of Qatar road transport laws and regulations
- Some knowledge of the statutory requirements mandated in the State of Qatar as well as other jurisdictions which the airline operates to.
