Preservation HSE

Overview

The Preservation HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) professional is responsible for overseeing and managing the preservation activities related to health, safety, and environmental standards during the preservation, storage, and handling phases of equipment and materials.

This role ensures compliance with HSE regulations and guidelines to minimize risks associated with preservation activities in various project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HSE procedures and guidelines specific to preservation activities, ensuring all operations adhere to safety and environmental standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications related to preservation tasks, such as the handling, storage, and protection of equipment and materials.
  • Monitor preservation activities to ensure they are carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with applicable HSE standards, including PPE use and safe storage practices.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for preservation teams on HSE procedures, best practices, and emergency response related to preservation work.
  • Inspect preservation sites regularly to identify potential HSE hazards and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, such as proper waste management and spill prevention.
  • Collaborate with preservation engineers, supervisors, and contractors to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into preservation plans and executed effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of HSE inspections, incident reports, and corrective actions taken during preservation activities.
  • Support the investigation of preservation-related incidents or near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all preservation chemicals, materials, and processes used comply with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the development of emergency response plans specific to preservation activities, including fire prevention, hazardous material handling, and environmental protection measures.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.

Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognized HSE certifications .
  • Proficient in MS Office and HSE management software/tools.

Years Of Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 3 years focused on preservation activities in industrial or project environments.

Technical Knowledge

  • Preservation HSE Standards: Knowledge of HSE standards and best practices related to preservation activities, including risk assessment, hazardous material handling, and environmental protection.
  • Compliance and Incident Management: Experience in conducting HSE inspections, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions specific to preservation work.
