Procurement Coordinator

Overview

The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring that all goods and services required for project operations are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies.

This role involves coordinating with vendors, maintaining procurement schedules, handling purchase orders, and supporting the project teams in meeting their material and equipment needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions, ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor and track procurement activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand material requirements and ensure the procurement process supports project objectives.
  • Assist in resolving any procurement-related issues, such as delays, shortages, or discrepancies, by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement reports, providing insights into spending, supplier performance, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations throughout the procurement process.
  • Support vendor qualification and evaluation processes to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply chain.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills

  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is .
  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Years Of Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a coordinating role within the oil and gas or construction industries.

Technical Knowledge

  • Procurement Process Management: Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management, specifically within project-based environments.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in managing vendor relationships, including performance evaluation, dispute resolution, and developing strategies for supplier improvement.
