About the role

As a sales steering specialist, you will be supporting the successful implementation of the Global Sales Strategy and its corresponding activities for the assigned region by guiding and steering the Cargo's sales organisation towards revenue and return on investment maximisation. Analyses the characteristics of each market (customers, commodities, lanes, etc.) and ensures Sales teams target the most profitable ones, keeping track of performance goals vs. market benchmarks, liaising with the regional Sales teams on a continuous basis to ensure targets are met and supporting their execution.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

  • Works together with local Sales team and other stakeholders to identify which actions lead to improved revenue performance and coordinates these actions' delivery through meetings, conference calls, reports, etc., that track their execution.
  • Identifies and liaises with other key stakeholders (RM/Pricing, Sales Planning, etc.) necessary to the successful implementation of Sale Steering objectives.
  • Drives the implementation of the client strategy as set in conjunction with Sales Planning, ensuring we are continuously improving the performance metrics for our customers.
  • Look for opportunities to steer the optimal destination mix for each Point of Sale and breaks down these opportunities into specific sales actions.
  • Measures sales effectiveness by reporting an agreed-upon set of Sales KPls and works alongside the Sales teams supporting their achievement.
  • Looks at Sales' activities and processes with the aim of identifying which ones bring value to the business and helps prioritise them.
  • Provides Sales with periodic and ad-hoc analysis to support meeting of Sales Strategy objectives

Qualifications

About you

  • Experience working in an analytics/numerical role.
  • Track record of tackling complex business problems and creating viable solutions
  • Analytical or numerically-oriented degree from reputable organisation, or clearly demonstrable relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in Air Cargo organisation, such as Freight Forwarder, airline, etc., or a logistic/supply chain environment.
  • Previous experience in market benchmarking and competition monitoring.
  • Previous experience in helping design and implement and monitor Sales Incentives Programmes.
  • Previous experience supporting B2B Sales.
