Solution Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing functional requirements documents, design documents, and providing end-to-end solution architecture for software solutions (Ideally JDE/Oracle, Apex, Apian, Ultimus, MS SharePoint, PowerBI…). This role requires a deep understanding of software design, systems integration, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design and Architecture:

·       Lead the design and architecture of comprehensive software solutions that meet business requirements.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications.

·       Develop high-level and detailed design documents that guide development teams.

Requirements Gathering:

·       Work closely with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather and document functional requirements.

·       Ensure that requirements are complete, concise, and aligned with the overall business objectives.

Technical Leadership:

·       Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.

·       Ensure that the proposed solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the organization's technology standards.

Sizing and Capacity Planning:

·       Conduct sizing exercises to determine the hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements for the solution.

·       Provide estimates for resource allocation, timeframes, and costs associated with implementing the solution.

Solution Validation:

·       Validate and review the solutions to ensure they meet quality standards and business requirements.

·       Perform risk analysis and identify potential issues that could impact the solution’s success.

Stakeholder Communication:

·       Present and explain architectural designs and solutions to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.

·       Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between solution architecture and project plans.

Continuous Improvement:

·       Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in software development and architecture.

·       Recommend improvements to existing solutions and processes to enhance efficiency and performance.

Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in solution architecture, software design, and systems integration.

Proven experience in developing functional requirements documents and design documents.

Expertise in sizing and capacity planning for software solutions.

Skills:

Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

Proficiency in architectural frameworks and tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
