THIS JOB IS BASED IN QATAR-DOHA
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the Estimation & Invoicing Department effectively and provide excellent services to customers.
- Lead in implementing strategies in line with company guidelines to generate high revenue and achieve optimum profit margin by applying cost-effective pricing strategies and strict cost control in coordination with VP, Business Development and Production.
- Update VP – Shipyard on the activities and progress of the projects and related projects should there be any deviation from the budgeted plan. Prepare summary of budgeted vs actual man-hours for each project and discuss with VP and production team.
- Ensure the team is preparing quotations as per client’s specifications, is conducting inspection on vessels or at site as required prior to quoting and coordinate the preparation of technical tender specifications
- Coordinate with Business Development team to meet the customer expectations • Coordinate and review scope of work for every project/job being enquired by the client. Provide budgeted hours to production team and planning department.
- Accommodate and analyse production feedback on actual hours spent on the job and provide overall comparison budget vs actual to Management team.
- Ensure additional jobs or variation orders are raised by the operations. Monitor the job man-hours in progress with the estimated time frame and budgeted cost & plan.
- Coordinate with other departments for issues related to various resource plans for cost estimation jobs.
- Manage all the requisitions for direct purchase and third-party services and ensure they are accounted on the jobs.
- Coordinate the preparation of draft & final invoices with details about job costing summary – invoice value, cost incurred, and profit marine.
- Prepare monthly revenue report, status of enquiries and summary of billable / non billable hours for VP Shipyard approval and finance purpose
- Implement and Maintain within their area of responsibility and accountability, compliance to all Milaha Health & Safety, Security, Environment and Quality policies, Manuals, Procedures, Laws, Regulations and Standards.
- Actively contribute and participate in Milaha Health & Safety, Security, Environment and Quality consultations, training and initiatives
- Ensure operations/work processes occur in accordance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and any other standards and requirements to which compliance is required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the management.
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Mechanical diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering
Professional Experience:
- 10 years min experience in shipyard and/or oil & gas.
- Preferable past experience in fabrication and shutdown projects.
- Computer Skills: MS Office, MS Project, Oracle Financial Application (preferable but not a must)
- Language Skills: Business fluent English; Arabic a plus Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Estimation practices and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of general repair, outfitting and fabrication operations and services, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, hull coatings, steel repairs, manpower supply.
