Job Title: IT Head of Application and Programming Section
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: IT Director
Job Purpose: The IT Head of Application and Programming Section is responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s software applications and programming initiatives, with a specific focus on Odoo ERP systems. This role ensures that the company’s software applications support the business's strategic objectives, meet user needs, and comply with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Odoo ERP Expertise: (Required)
- Lead the customization, integration, and deployment of Odoo modules to meet business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support for Odoo-related projects.
- Ensure optimal performance and functionality of the Odoo ERP system.
- Offer consultation on best practices and optimization strategies for Odoo implementations.
- Maintain deep knowledge of Odoo’s capabilities, development frameworks, and implementation methodologies.
- Develop and implement Odoo training programs for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate Odoo applications to suggest improvements and new functionalities.
- Advise on integrating Odoo with other systems to enhance overall business processes.
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of software developers, application specialists, and programmers.
- Oversee the planning, development, and execution of application projects, particularly those involving Odoo.
- Set objectives and performance metrics for the team and ensure they are met.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior management to define the IT strategy and application roadmap.
- Align application development projects with business goals and priorities.
- Identify and assess new technologies and methodologies to enhance application development.
- Application Development and Maintenance:
- Oversee the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications, with a focus on Odoo modules.
- Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Implement best practices for software development, including agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure that applications meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain rigorous testing procedures and documentation.
- Manage software audits and compliance checks.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Foster a culture of innovation within the team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, particularly in relation to Odoo ERP systems.
Optional Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are not remotely required but can be included based on the candidate's experience and preferences:
- Project Management:
- Manage the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to deployment.
- Ensure that projects, especially Odoo-related, are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor deliverables meet quality and performance standards.
- Act as a liaison between IT and other business units to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in software development, application management, and Odoo ERP systems.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, and frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven expertise in Odoo development, implementation, consultation, and continuous improvement.
- Should be based or live in Qatar.
