Maintenance Team Leader - Commercial

About the role 

As a Maintenance Team Leader - Commercial, you will be responsible activities related to maintenance of commercial properties. Supervise subordinate personnel; delegating assignments and ensuring assigned jobs are completed on time. Ensure compliance with QR rules, regulations, standards and guidelines.

Accountabilities:

Operational

·           Responsible for activities related to maintenance of residential and commercial properties.

·           Liaise with external contractors and internal clients.

·           Support all emergencies and ensure responsible back up is available in order to take corrective action as necessary

·           Study and perform the scope of work and ensure the work quality of all project works is completed as per Qatar Airways standards

·           Determine design requirements to meet safety, accessibility and building code guidelines

·           Ensure office equipment (telephone lines/ computer etc.) are functionally within the set time frames

·           Set priorities, conduct regular checks and make appropriate decisions

·           Ensure proper documentation and paper work at all times

·           Ensure consistent application of all policies and procedures are being followed by all

·           Together with the team, the Maintenance Team Leader will take responsibility for maintaining quality, accuracy and completeness.

·           Follow up with the Service provider on daily maintenance activities and confirm at the site to ensure work is done

·           Implementation of Preventative Maintenance schedule with the Service provider without failure and record all the maintenance activities done on the Repair log

·           Coordinate with the Service provider for furniture movement, power and data installation as per the furniture layout

·           Daily routine rounds from roof of the building till the basement and surrounding of the building to ensure equipment, areas are clear from Fire and other Safety hazards

·           Coordinate with the Storekeeper for timely collection of inventory items from the store

·           Monitor the inventory issuance to the various work sites and ensure proper control mechanisms are in place.

·           Ensure Facilities Management System (FMS) requests are completed as per the SLA.

·           Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

§  Ensure full awareness of work health and safety requirements and expectations in order to minimize health and safety risks for self and colleagues.

§  Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to guarantee employee safety, security, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude

§  Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.

About you 

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 2-3 years of job-related experience
  • Minimum diploma in electrical or mechanical with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience should preferably be from a Hotel/Hospitality/Facilities Management

Job Specific Skills:

Essential

  • Must be computer literate.  Should be able to work on Tabs, PC and laptops.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • Should be able to handle customers in a polite and patient manner.  Ideally, should be a people's man.
  • Thorough knowledge of Maintenance works related to electrical, plumbing, drainage and air conditioning.
  • Quality maintaining of floor and wall finishes.
  • Basic knowledge on technical operation of appliances.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Valid Qatari or a transferable driving license.
