We are pleased to announce this incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways, Cargo Sales team, as Senior Cargo Sales Agent in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Responsible for generating maximum cargo revenue in the assigned station through the effective sales strategies and promotion. Provide cargo operations and customer service functions including interaction with customers and GHA for both import and export cargo.
Accountabilities:
- Interact via telephone with freight forwarders, direct shippers, and/or consignees, typical telesales functions, assist customer queries, rate quotations, optimizing the commercial functions related to export booking/ forwarding/ delivery while setting high standard of service.
- Liaising with local Ground Handling Agents and with Head Office Cargo Department to ensure/enhance a high quality service provided by QR both import and export.
- Support import customers for clearance of their cargo, liaise with customs authorities to facilitate smooth and timely import clearance, liaise with HQ Doha and or origin stations for necessary support.
- Plan flight with maximum utilization of the flight capacity, control and operation for export and import.
- Coordination with customers/ cargo claims supervisor at head office, handling discrepancies at stations and in all administrative issues related to stations.
- To disseminate all cargo related information for updating customers regarding customs, governmental and health authorities' rules and head office to comply with regulations and to avoid penalties, destruction etc.
- Ensures that notifications are sent officially on cargo arrival information to freight forwarders/agents/ direct customers to ensure the cargo does not stay under airlines custody for long period, avoid damages and for space availability at the warehouse.
- Ensures full awareness of work health and safety requirements and expectations in order to minimize health and safety risks for self and colleagues.
- Weekly, monthly or whenever deemed necessary services reports including preparation system accounting updates on every flight departure.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade Qualification
- Minimum 3 year of relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
- High energy and positive attitude are necessary to perform well in this very high pressured and demanding environment.
- High level of computer literacy
- IATA/TACT Regulations
- Knowledge in cargo sales
- Excellent customer focus and service delivery.
- Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation
