About the role
We are currently recruiting for Commis Chef for one of the most dynamic and exciting leisure venues in Doha. West Bay beach, under the management of Discover Qatar, comprises 3 absolute beachfront fully licensed venues.
- Doha Sands, an exclusive and private beach club for in house guests staying at participating West Bay hotels
- The Bistro; a fully licensed restaurant, opens from 7am until midnight with a capacity of 200, serving light casual meals and also catering for special events, movie and sports event screenings and private groups.
- B12 Beach Club, Qatar’s largest private beach club featuring the largest inflatable in the country, a range of international food and beverage outlets, general admission and VIP sections, a resident DJ and popular weekend brunches.
You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service in all areas of the kitchen operation by ensuring efficient and professional processing of guests’ requirements and act as an ambassador for the WBB products. Understands and demonstrates at all times the importance of upholding the highest personal and professional standard and to have positive and passionate attitude towards the customers
Other key responsibilities are:
Operational
- Performs daily operational tasks as per standard operating procedures i.e. setting up of buffets and kitchen areas.
- Ensures that product knowledge of all food items served is attained so that customers receive accurate information about the various food items served during service.
- Provides operational updates and communicates daily instances to the Chef De Partie.
- Liaises with other internal departments particularly Food and Beverage unit to ensure that both departments remain updated with current trends.
- Works collectively and amicably with various team members to ensure a positive team environment.
- Ensure that visual appearance of the kitchen area is maintained at all times by reporting faulty equipment, furniture or items.
- Assist in the preparation of certain food items as directed by the Demi Chef De Partie.
- Ensure that all kitchen stocks are utilized on the basis of first-in, first-out, (FIFO) ensuring that the oldest stock items recorded as utilized first so that items do not expire and only the freshest stock is utilized.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

- Minimum 2 years of job- related experience
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members
- Be aware of employee training needs and qualifications
- Self-assess and self-recommend to the Demi Chef De Partie for any training needs that may be a requirement.
