We are looking for a Lead Logistics Assistant to be part of the Qatar Duty Free Team. As part of this role you will be responsible to support the logistics team through filing and maintaining of proper documentation, effective communication, report generation, work on IT systems (AX R3) to update data and tasks as per business requirements.
Accountabilities:
• Support the Logistics team to track and trace shipments, both inwards and outwards Doha by updating systems requirements, to ensure business gets proper visibility on shipment status and ensuring all required actions are assigned and taken within proper time frame.
• Communicate with Buyers, Merchandisers and other business areas on pending enquiries ensuring it's answered and escalated timely.
• Track and generate various reports on shipment status/costing, sharing with procurement and management team to assist evaluating the logistics cost.
• Collect, track, file and archive documents including the proof of delivery of all re-exports to suppliers and customers from QDF for audit purpose, ensuring all delivered items are charged to concerned parties.
• Prepare Airway bill, Invoice and any other documentation for Customs purpose, by consolidating transfer requests to Landside operations, in order to ensure smooth and timely take out of items to landside business, in a most cost effective manner.
• Prepare Gate pass requests and follow up for the approval, communicate the progress to the business ensure items get into airside as per the schedule.
• Update status of inward shipments by consolidating documents, filing and communicating the same to the Receiving team ensuring the team are updated of expected deliveries in the coming days.
• Assist in all other documentation work required for business in QDF warehouse.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
• Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
• Keep abreast with any market trends and developments
• Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
• Train Qatari staff in various duties as per business requirements
• Ensure full awareness of work health and safety requirements and expectations in order to minimise health and safety risks for self and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to guarantee employee safety, security, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
• Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.
• Aware of general environmental principles and tools and assist your department in achieving Qatar Airways Group Environmental Objectives and targets.

Qualifications
• Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
• Qualified in Microsoft Office applications primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Previous Experience:
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience
• Preferably Fluent in Arabic language, both written and verbal
Job Specific Skills:
• Data entry and Administrative tasks
• Command of English language
• Knowledge of retail or warehouse business.
• Ability to foster teamwork among team members
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
