As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s Cargo Business Optimization Team in Doha as a Cargo Data Science Officer 

Join the QR Cargo family and leave a mark as part of the Cargo Business Optimization Team.

In this role, you will be responsible to solve complex problems and build scalable models, algorithms that will be integrated into various tools or systems within Qatar Airways Cargo. Also, are able to integrate with key SPOCs within the departments to build value added solutions.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Design, develop and implement analytical techniques on large, complex structured and unstructured data sets to help business to make better decisions and along with it identify, verify, evaluate and validate hidden patterns in data across multiple systems.
• Implement statistical and data science techniques, for example, hypothesis testing, machine learning, deep learning and retrieval processes on a large amount of data to identify trends, figures and other relevant information.
• Develop models and data driven solutions that add a material lift to principal performance metrics and with-it present insights back to executive management / internal department SPOCs to drive strategic improvement.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence team to integrate data models with business solutions and keep abreast of data science developments, news, opportunities and challenges.
• Keep abreast with any market trends and developments
• Consult the Group's Data Protection Officer in matters related to data protection and privacy as appropriate. Ensure the confidentiality, security and protection of all information handled in the course of duties is maintained at all times from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, deletion/destruction, corruption, modification, inspection or recording.

Qualifications

About you

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of job-related experience
• Excellent problem solver and excellent knowledge in mathematics or business statistics
• Hands on experience in development of models using statistical techniques 
• Outstanding written and verbal communication in English with excellent influencing capabilities.
• Preferred advanced analytics certification (ex. R, SAS, SPSS)
• Experience with data analysis (SQL, R, Python, Scala, machine learning and data visualization tools – Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview,).
• High level of MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Preferable Knowledge of cloud platforms — AWS and Azure
