Captain (Doha Beach Club)

We are currently recruiting for an operational captain for one of the most dynamic and exciting leisure venues in Doha.  West Bay beach, under the management of Discover Qatar, comprises 3 absolute beachfront fully licensed venues;

  1. Doha Sands, an exclusive and private beach club for in house guests staying at participating West Bay hotels
  2. The Bistro; a fully licensed restaurant, open from 7am until midnight with a capacity of 200, serving light casual meals and also catering for special events, movie and sports event screenings and private groups.
  3. B12 Beach Club, Qatar’s largest private beach club featuring the largest inflatable in the country, a range of international food and beverage outlets, general admission and VIP sections, a resident DJ and popular weekend brunches.

The role is responsible to promote and provide professional and customer focused service to our guests, maintain a safe and sanitary work environment and ensure only the highest quality products are being served. Ensure all the processes and standards are followed and implemented to ensure smooth and safe operations and understands the scope of responsibility and line of reporting.  

Other key responsibilities are:

  • Provide positive, professional and personalized service to the highest standard to exceed the customer`s expectations.
  • Apply service techniques correctly at all times, guides and monitors staff to ensure that Food and Beverage items are served with enthusiasm and finesse in a professional manner.
  • Anticipate the guests needs by profiling the customers as per his assigned zone by practice good customer relations and attends to guests’ complaints and queries satisfactorily in a professional manner.
  • Assist to communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Coordinates with the kitchen regarding any menu questions, the length of wait and product availability. Reviews order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for order requirements accordingly.
  • Acquire in depth knowledge of the food & beverage menu of the assigned outlet in order to assist and provide advice to guests.
  • Supervise the service team to ensure that all duties are performed as per standards.
  • Ensure that the team receives adequate training to perform their duties and take an active role in coaching and developing junior staff.
  • Contribute in ensuring the Outlet is set-up for service and supervise for a smooth operation, ensures that the restaurant is always kept clean and organized, both at the front as well as the back of house areas.
  • Ensure proper organization by using techniques for planning, control by conducting inventory checks on essential requirement and maintain concise record of all stock.
  • Perform all necessary tasks to service food & beverage according to the standard of performance and ensure that the internal policies/SOP are consistently implemented. Complies with all company procedures, rules & regulations.
  • Guide staff in their zone to ensure that all waste management systems and procedures are followed, and all waste is correctly handled, recycled and disposed.

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional with:

  • High School certificate or equivalent
  • Basic Food Safety Certificate
  • Previous Beach Club Experience is desired.
  • Excellent people and customer experience skills
