Shadow Teacher (Contract Basis)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shadow Teacher to join our team on a contract basis in Doha, Qatar. The Shadow Teacher will be responsible for providing individualized support and assistance to students with special needs in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a passion for helping students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs in the classroom setting.
  2. Assist students with completing academic assignments and tasks, ensuring comprehension and understanding.
  3. Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  4. Help students develop and improve their social and communication skills.
  5. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Monitor and document student progress, including behavioral and academic data.
  7. Attend meetings and conferences with parents, teachers, and other professionals to discuss student progress and develop strategies for improvement.
  8. Provide regular feedback and updates to parents and other stakeholders regarding student performance and progress.
  9. Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and implement evidence-based strategies and interventions.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special needs.
  3. Experience in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  4. Strong knowledge of different learning disabilities and developmental disorders.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
  8. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
  9. Fluency in English. Arabic language skills are a plus.
  10. Proficient in using technology and educational software to support student learning.

Skills

  • Knowledge of various teaching strategies and methodologies for students with special needs.
  • Ability to assess and monitor student progress using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and prioritize tasks.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy laws related to working with students with special needs.
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
