Role Overview

Serve as the technical expert and advisor for the USAF Munitions Surveillance Program.

Manage the program and inspector qualification and certification activities under DAFMAN 21-201.

Perform surveillance inspections to identify serviceability, hazards, deterioration, and accountability issues.

Principal Accountabilities

Manage training, certification, and evaluations of assigned Munitions Inspectors. Advise the Munitions Superintendent and monitor inspector performance for negative trends. Operate and analyze TICMS products to ensure stockpile accuracy. Inspect munitions and containers under applicable technical directives. Enforce USAF, host-nation explosives safety, AFOSH, and security standards. Document serviceability and accountability actions and resolve discrepancies. Conduct warehouse inventories and correct discrepancies. Oversee inspection and certification of munitions brass, residue, and containers. Recondition, repair, and replace defective or missing parts. Perform munitions storage, equipment operation, safety briefings, entry-control, and standby duties.

Minimum Requirements

Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or a U. S. military service equivalent. Intermediate knowledge of management information systems applicable to precision-guided munitions activities. Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Power Point, Excel, and Word. Valid home-country driver's license and ability to obtain a host-nation driver's license. High school diploma or equivalent and formal USAF Munitions Systems training or equivalent. Meet Senior Munitions Inspector prerequisites under DAFMAN 21-201. At least two years of recent USAF Munitions Inspector experience or recent completion of the specified AETC course. At least seven years of USAF Military Munitions or equivalent experience. At least five years of combined supervisory experience in munitions activities and material handling equipment. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U. S. Government clearance, which requires U. S. citizenship.

Work Environment

Work may occur in an office, maintenance shop, warehouse, or outdoors for extended periods. The role requires compliance with prescribed personal protective equipment procedures.
