Role Description:
The Protection Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha. The Protection Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing protection schemes for EHV, HV, MV, and LV systems, including relay settings and coordination studies. Day-to-day tasks include performing protection system maintenance, pre-commissioning and end-to-end testing, fault analysis, and preparing technical reports and documentation. The role involves supporting substation and industrial electrical system, troubleshooting substation equipment and protection issues. The Protection Engineer will collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical networks and participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
Strong knowledge of power system protection principles, relay coordination, and fault analysis for EHV, HV, MV, and LV networks.
Experience with protection relay configuration, testing, and commissioning, including pre-commissioning, end-to-end testing, and final trip tests.
Proficiency in substation industrial electrical system control and monitoring.
Knowledge of power system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and power quality assessment.
Familiarity with troubleshooting of substation plant equipment protection systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced qualifications or certifications in power system protection an advantage.
Relevant experience in utility, industrial, or consultancy environments, preferably within the Middle East or similar power system context.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills, with attention to detail and safety standards.
Ability to work on-site in Doha, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
