We are seeking a highly experienced Wastewater Operations Advisor / Drainage Advisor to join a prestigious long-term infrastructure project in Qatar. This is a strategic advisory role for a senior professional with extensive experience in drainage and wastewater operations, asset management, and infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical, strategic, and operational advice on drainage and wastewater systems.
• Support the development and implementation of strategies to enhance operational performance, asset reliability, and service delivery.
• Advise on operations & maintenance (O&M), asset management, contract management, and project delivery across drainage and wastewater infrastructure.
• Review operational processes and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and business performance.
• Support business transformation initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, health & safety standards, quality assurance requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide guidance on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance related to drainage operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project and operational outcomes.
• Evaluate operational and maintenance performance, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support long-term planning, infrastructure sustainability, and asset lifecycle management initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and operational standards to improve organizational effectiveness.

Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Degree must be obtained from North America, Western Europe, or Australia.
• Minimum 30 years of professional engineering experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience within the wastewater/drainage industry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) environment.

• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control procedures.
• Experience working within large, multidisciplinary organizations or utility/infrastructure environments.
• Previous experience in the Middle East/GCC is highly preferred.
• Chartered Engineer status and/or Institute of Asset Management (IAM) accreditation is considered a strong advantage.
