Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties Provide specialist consultations for dermatological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings. Diagnose and manage a wide range of skin, hair, and nail diseases, including chronic, acute, and complex cases. Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, phototherapy oversight, intralesional injections, and cosmetic dermatology (if applicable). Lead dermatology clinics, urgent referral clinics, and specialty clinics (e.g., psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer). Participate in skin cancer screening, dermatoscopy, and minor surgical procedures. Provide on-call dermatology support when required. Patient Care & Safety Ensure high standards of patient care aligned with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with other doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including skin cancer MDTs. Provide specialist advice to other departments and external healthcare partners. Teaching & Training Supervise and teach junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff. Contribute to departmental teaching programs, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME). Leadership & Service Development Contribute to the development and improvement of dermatology services. Participate in clinical governance, audits, guideline development, and research activities. Engage in strategic planning to expand services and introduce new technologies or treatments. Desirable Skills Experience in dermatopathology, cosmetic dermatology, or skin cancer surgery. Research experience and publications in dermatology. Ability to lead service development initiatives. Teaching qualifications or experience.
