The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialists are supporting a leading International Engineering firm who are requiring a Rail O&M Systems Safety Assessor for their rail projects in the GCC Region

As an Operation and Maintenance Systems Safety Assessor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our rail project in Qatar. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and analyze operation and maintenance systems, processes, and procedures to identify potential safety risks and develop effective mitigation measures. You will collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including engineers, operators, and maintenance teams, to ensure that all safety requirements are met and that the project complies with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety assessments of operation and maintenance systems, processes, and procedures for the rail project.
• Identify potential safety hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement safety plans, policies, and procedures.
• Review and analyze safety documentation, reports, and records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on safety-related matters to project teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging safety technologies.

Key Requirements For The Role

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 15 years of industry experience
• Regional experience is an advantage
• Proven experience as a Systems Safety Assessor or similar role, specifically in O&M phase of railway projects
• Strong knowledge of CENELEC standards, safety regulations, codes, and safety assessment processes
• Extensive experience in developing and implementing safety strategies, policies, and procedures for complex engineering systems.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.
• Willing to relocate to the Middle East
• Familiarity with operation and maintenance systems in rail infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks effectively.
• Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing stakeholders.
