About The Role
Candidate will be responsible to provide vital operational support to the QAS and QR Group operational equipment fleet by providing all the equipment management support functions through life including receipt, commissioning, handover, in-service management and disposal. Liaises with external organisations including Ministry of Interior, Customs, Port Authorities, QCAA, Ministry of Transport, equipment test centres and insurance companies. Provides all aspects of daily fleet management to prescribed standards in a timely manner and ensures that the forecasting of fleet management activities is in line with operation requirements. Will supply the highest level of customer service possible to both QAS and QR Group Subsidiaries.
Operational
- Supervise support personnel and the functions of the work unit, which includes: interviewing prospective employees; providing and/or recommending training; coordinating, scheduling and assigning work product; establishing performance measures, goals, objectives and priorities; evaluating work performance; providing feedback, direction and guidance; keeping personnel abreast of new or revised information; answering questions; and recommending and/or implementing personnel actions.
- Create and oversee the fleet registration database for QAS and QR Group contracted subsidiaries.
- Forecast the future fleet registration requirements and plan accordingly.
- Ensure that all future registration renewals for the fleet are carried out prior to expiry of existing registration and identify any vehicular issues which could cause delay to renewal.
- Control and manage a team of three Fleet Support Agents.
- Assume responsibility for the control and maintenance of the QAS Engineering fleet, ensuring all required repairs and inspections are carried out in order to optimise efficiency.
- Control the lease and rental asset exchanges with the respective outside agencies once arranged through management.
- Liaise with local Authorities for the efficient processing and collection of equipment from sea and airports; either by self-drive or by transporter.
- Resolve any fleet related Ministry of Interior issues that arise including the coordination of payment for traffic fines.
- Liaise with all external agencies for fleet related support such as crane hire, specialist load movement hire and external recovery.
- Control all accident repairs with external agencies from point of accident, delivery of equipment to authorised repair centre and collection of repaired asset for handover to end-user.
- Coordinate and control the contracted disposal of all declared surplus and scrap equipment.
- Assist all QAS departments with resolving local security gate issues with Ministry of Interior security staff and Customs staff appertaining to the movement of people or goods into and out of HIA and DIA.
- Prepares all associated documentation and letters in Arabic and obtains authority approvals.
- Translates Arabic documents and letter into English for management use.
- Carry out dockside equipment inspections before signing customs acceptance documents and driving equipment to HIA.
- Coordinate the recovery and roadside break down assistance teams for equipment that breaks down outside of HIA on public roads.

About You
Essential
- Vocational/Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on role)
- Experienced - minimum 6 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Experienced - minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Significant experience with desktop and internet-based software applications
- Ability to read and write fluent Arabic.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge of MS suite applications.
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
- Heavy vehicle driving licensed
Preferred
- Experience of Fleet Management Software
- Experience in repair and maintenance of vehicles/equipment
- Computer qualification
- Bus driving license.
- Ground Support Equipment operator licenses
