Operations Assistant

Looking to hire an Operations Assistant, with a minimum of 3 years experience in Qatar's freight forwarding industry.


Responsibilities

The job responsibilities consists of:

  • Opening and updating of job files in the ERP software.
  • Updating latest rates from overseas agents.
  • Updating latest rates from local shipping lines and airlines.
  • Attending to customer inquiries.
  • Informing local customer of all the origin country’s export requirements and Qatar customs import regulations.
  • Quoting price to the customer.
  • Coordinating shipment collection from origin country with overseas agent, and arranging shipment till Doha, for import shipments and vice versa for export shipments.
  • Verifying all shipping documents and ensuring they are in line with Qatar local regulations for import shipments and destination customs for export shipments.
  • Coordinating shipment local clearance in Qatar between customs clearance team and customer.
  • Advising customer on procedures in applying for various government approvals (Notably: EPC/Chemical and Radiation, Qatar Standardization, MoPH, Pharmaceuticals, ICT, Traffic department).
  • Coordinating internally with operations team and transportation team to arrange smooth last mile delivery of shipments.
  • Updating job costs and selling in the ERP software.

Qualifications

The below qualifications are required to apply for this post:

  1. Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic is a bonus.
  2. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in freight forwarding, in Qatar.
  3. Transferable work visa with NOC from current employer.
  4. Driving license is a bonus.
  5. Basic degree/diploma.
