*Candidates with HR Employment Relations with a Legal background in Qatar to apply - immediate hiring*
Key responsibilities:
- Provide sound, business-oriented and effective legal advice on a wide variety of HR, Employment and Disciplinary matters pertaining to all workforce in the organization
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and ensure the organization's HR policies and practices are always complied to
- Advise HR personnel on legal implications of HR decisions and initiatives
- Support in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure legal compliance and alignment with the organization's goals and value.
- Provide guidance and support to HR staff on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution and assist in the development of strategies for maintaining positive employee relations while minimizing the organisations reputational and legal risks
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, including offer letters, relevant agreements including e.g., non-compete agreements and severance agreements. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and protect the organization's interests in the process
- Investigate and respond to complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
- Develop and conduct training programs to educate employees and managers on preventing discriminatory practices and fostering a respectful work environment
- Assist the HR team with employee relations matters, including negotiations, disputes, and grievances e.g., escalation of time & attendance issues
- Collaborate with internal and external counsels in handling employment-related litigation, including discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and wrongful termination lawsuits. Provide guidance on settlement negotiations and represent the organization in hearings or court proceedings when necessary.
- Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops for HR staff, managers, and employees on all relevant employment laws, policies, procedures, compliance requirements, risks and safeguards
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university with sound understanding of employment laws
- Professional admission to, and membership of, the Law Society (or equivalent) of a developed common law jurisdiction
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably with a focus on HR-related matters
- Experience in advising on the operation, policy and procedures of HR/Employee Relations functions
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and case law as well as relevant leading practice
