Key Result Areas:
- Participate on Ovum Pick Up sessions, helping with oocyte searching and processing
- Assist with fertilization by running fertility tests, harvesting eggs and sperm and conducting in vitro fertilization procedures
- Assisting in placing the fertilized eggs inside an incubator regulated to control temperature and PH that mimics the condition of the uterus
- Quality assessment and preparation of gametes and embryos
- Preparation of media, equipment, and environment for IVF/ICSI
- Perform IVF, ICSI and embryo biopsy procedures maintaining viability standards
- Cryopreservation/thawing of gametes and embryos
- Elaborate and update detailed patient records, standard operating procedures, and inventory
- Quality control monitoring of the laboratory equipment, resources, and environment
- Contribute to cleaning and maintenance duties of the laboratory and equipment
- Maintain, clean and label collection
- Assist veterinarians when necessary
- Reorder supplies when needed
- Complete documentation of pertinent information
- Maintain embryo inventories
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Biotechnology or related sciences
- Proven knowledge on embryology and assisted reproductive technologies
- A minimum of 4 years of work experience in an equine clinical laboratory performing IVF/ICSI
- Communication skills: Proficient level of spoken and written English
- Computer skills: Familiar with basic software for record keeping and data management
