Job Objective:
As a Production Controller for the SPM Buoy construction project, your role will be vital in overseeing and coordinating production activities specific to the buoy construction process. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely production processes, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining accurate production records. By closely monitoring production schedules, inventory levels, and quality standards, you will contribute to the successful completion of the SPM Buoy construction project within the defined timelines and budget while meeting customer requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Collaborate with production managers, engineers, and project stakeholders to develop production plans and schedules for the SPM Buoy construction project, considering project milestones, resource availability, and production capacity.
- Review and analyze project requirements, specifications, and engineering designs to determine the production needs and ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives.
- Create and maintain detailed production schedules, taking into account critical activities, dependencies, and resource constraints specific to the construction of the SPM Buoy.
Resource Allocation and Coordination:
- Coordinate with various departments, including procurement, logistics, and construction teams, to ensure timely availability of resources required for the SPM Buoy construction, such as raw materials, equipment, and skilled labor.
- Monitor resource utilization and identify opportunities for optimizing production processes, minimizing bottlenecks, and optimizing resource allocation to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate production requirements, priorities, and any changes to relevant teams, ensuring smooth coordination and adherence to project plans.
Production Monitoring and Control:
- Monitor production activities and progress related to the construction of the SPM Buoy, ensuring adherence to established schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Collect and analyze production data, such as progress reports, construction metrics, and equipment performance, to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Implement corrective actions or adjustments to production plans as necessary to maintain project timelines, meet quality requirements, and minimize disruptions.
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with inventory control personnel to monitor inventory levels of materials, equipment, and components required for the SPM Buoy construction, ensuring timely availability and minimizing excess inventory or stockouts.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to facilitate the procurement, transportation, and storage of materials in alignment with project schedules and specifications.
- Implement effective inventory management strategies, such as just-in-time (JIT) principles, to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and ensure efficient material flow during the construction of the SPM Buoy.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the quality assurance and engineering teams to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and engineering designs throughout the production process of the SPM Buoy.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant regulations, safety guidelines, and quality control procedures specific to offshore construction projects.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues, improve construction processes, and prevent reoccurrence.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate production reports, including progress updates, production output, resource utilization, and compliance metrics, to provide visibility into production performance and project status.
- Maintain accurate production records, including work orders, production logs, and quality control documentation specific to the SPM Buoy construction project.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by analyzing production data, identifying trends, and recommending process enhancements to optimize production efficiency and meet project objectives.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering) is preferred., or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in design engineering or drafting for SPM Buoys or similar offshore structures is advantageous.
- Strong technical drawing skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of drafting techniques, standards, and best practices relevant to SPM Buoy design.
- Understanding of design principles and engineering concepts specific to SPM Buoys.
- Familiarity with naval architecture and marine engineering principles, particularly related to SPM Buoy design, is preferred.
- GCC Market is Preferable
- Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into comprehensive and precise drawings for SPM Buoys.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams involved in SPM Buoy projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in the context of SPM Buoy design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative solutions specific to SPM Buoy design challenges.
- Microsoft Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Very Good Command of written and spoken English.
