Responsible for providing the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical power production systems and equipment. Power production functions shall include inspections, maintenance, power production operations and training augmentation, and repair for future high voltage buildings and facility installations, substations, and fuel systems supporting facility stationary and emergency back-up generators. Service shall be provided on a 24/7 basis.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Complete effective and efficient inspection, operation, repair, and maintenance of all electrical power production equipment and systems based on prioritization requirements.
- Interpret instruments and meter readings, use electronic wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications, use applicable test equipment, safety rules and practices, environmental policies and principles of management and operation.
- Ensure all work areas and equipment are kept clean, orderly and in a safe manner.
- Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Shall be Electrical Power Production Journeyman, Master technicians or with equivalent power production experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive manual transmission).
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
- Must have an international driver’s license and capability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge.
- Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
- Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear.
Experience:
- Shall have knowledge of principles of electronics and electricity including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution and utilization.
- Experience operating and maintaining generators ranging from 5 to 2,500 kilowatts.
