Mechanical Technician

For our own projects, we are looking for: Mechanical Technician.


MISSION:


Responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure the reliable operation of offshore assets. This role requires extensive experience in offshore environments, particularly in FLNG/FPSO operations, with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.


TASKS:


  • Perform routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Conduct condition monitoring and identify potential equipment failures, addressing issues before they lead to operational downtime.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are performed according to manufacturer guidelines, project standards, and safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including equipment malfunctions, leaks, and abnormal vibrations, to identify the root cause of problems.
  • Execute corrective maintenance tasks such as part replacements, repairs, and adjustments to restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and respond to urgent repairs, ensuring safe and timely execution of corrective actions.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild mechanical components as part of scheduled overhauls or breakdown repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with offshore safety standards and project-specific HSE requirements.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and communicate any significant findings or repair requirements to the Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:


  • Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in the naval sector, with a focus on FLNG or FPSO projects.
  • Strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating equipment systems (pumps, compressors, turbines).
  • Fluent level of English, written and spoken.
