Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) is a highly successful, growing school with a committed and inspirational team of teaching professionals at its heart. Our close-knit, supportive team is proud to be at the centre of the local community, educating over 1200 young people aged 3-18. Primary is 5-form entry with approximately 750 students aged 3-11. Secondary is 4-form entry at Key Stages 3 & 4, with approximately 480 students aged 11-18.
Our school resides in the town of Al Khor, 35 minutes north of Doha (the capital of Qatar). We educate both local and expat students through a bespoke Secondary curriculum which draws on both the English National curriculum and the Qatar Ministry of Education curriculum.
Job Description
You will be responsible to ensure smooth operation of the information technology systems at the school, take preventative measures to reduce the risk of problems arising and correct problems as they occur. The IT Officer will provide technical support and maintenance for the school's computer systems, networks, and educational technology. This role is essential in ensuring that all IT resources are functioning efficiently to support the academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve hardware and software issues reported by staff and students. Provide on-site and remote support as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and install new hardware and software, including computers, printers, and multimedia equipment.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the school’s network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, and switches.
- Conduct training sessions for staff and students on using technology resources effectively and safely.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, software licenses, and technical support requests.
- Work with faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum and provide support for educational software and tools.
- Help implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance with privacy regulations.
- Be available for emergency technical support during school events or unforeseen circumstances.
Smooth Operation of IT systems
- Ensure the smooth operation of computers and network, server, printers and copiers, IWB’s, internet, MIS and phones.
- Solve problems with the computer and phone systems as they arise.
- Optimise the efficiency and the costs of the existing IT and phone technology.
MIS/iSAMS
- Familiarity with iSAMS (Information Management System) is a plus.
Other
- Source hardware and software as required. Work with purchasing, suppliers and vendors to source cost effective IT solutions and equipment.
- Assist the administration team with any reasonable requests as and when they arise.
- Assist academic staff with IT provision for events, i.e.projectors, music, lights.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and common educational technologies.
- Familiarity with iSAMS (Information Management System) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
