Position Description/ Job Purpose
The Senior UI/UX Designer plays a pivotal role in leading the user interface and user experience design efforts within the organization. This role involves leveraging extensive design expertise to drive the creation of intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centric digital experiences across multiple platforms. The Senior UI/UX Designer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to define design strategies, mentor junior designers, and advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
Major Areas of Responsibility & Requirments
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership in UI/UX design initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders to define design goals, priorities, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- User-Centered Design: Champion user-centered design principles and methodologies across the organization. Conduct user research, user testing, and persona development to inform design decisions and improve the overall user experience.
- UI/UX Strategy: Define and articulate design strategies that align with product vision and market requirements. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business goals into effective design solutions.
- Prototyping and Iteration: Lead the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups to communicate design concepts and interactions. Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and data-driven insights.
- Information Architecture: Develop intuitive information architecture and navigation schemes that optimize user engagement and task completion. Define content organization, hierarchy, and labeling conventions to enhance usability and findability.
- Visual Design: Create visually stunning and cohesive user interface designs for web, mobile, and other digital platforms. Apply principles of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy to enhance brand identity and user engagement.
- Collaboration and Mentoring: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and marketing. Mentor junior designers, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of design excellence and collaboration.
- Design Systems and Standards: Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides. Ensure consistency and scalability of design solutions across products and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven track record of designing successful digital products and experiences.
- Extensive experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio showcasing design expertise and thought leadership.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of interaction design principles, usability best practices, and accessibility standards.
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience leading design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and design sprints is a plus.

Education and Experience
Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
