Huxley has been mandated by a leading bank in Qatar to hire a Team Lead for their MIS function. This role is crucial in designing, building, and implementing Data Intelligence/Analytics solutions to meet MIS data and analytics needs across the bank. The incumbent will guide the Senior BI & Regulatory Reporting Specialist and Technical Developer, working closely with stakeholders to develop an Enterprise Business Intelligence (MIS) Framework and optimize data delivery and management across the enterprise in accordance with best practices and data governance frameworks.

Role Objective: The ideal candidate will lead the development and implementation of MIS and data analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and regulatory standards. The role involves optimizing data delivery, supporting business intelligence initiatives, and maintaining robust relationships with business and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and implement department strategy/goals and align the Business Intelligence (MIS) function accordingly.
• Define the scope and goals of Data Intelligence & Analytics and value proposition based on organizational requirements.
• Drive the business intelligence roadmap; prioritize analysis requests to balance tactical and strategic information needs.
• Define enterprise guidelines, standards, policies, and practices for Business Intelligence (MIS) solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set by Central Bank and other relevant government bodies.
• Establish and maintain robust relationships with business and IT stakeholders.
• Represent the bank at external events to optimize opportunities for the section.
• Stay current with the latest BI features, best practices, and industry trends.
• Define process KPIs, implement tools, and develop a roadmap for capturing and accessing business metadata.
• Formalize functional committees to enhance process management and monitor effectiveness.
• Work with DS&IT functions and Business Units to understand key business drivers, opportunities, and challenges.
• Develop and implement BI Reporting and Analytics framework/standard based on international standards.
• Oversee development and validation of reporting and analytics designs/templates/dashboards.
• Support implementation of Data Governance programs and ensure data integrity.
• Ensure data models align with current and future data management needs of the BUs.
• Contribute to business transformation and innovation initiatives.
• Gather feedback to define KPIs, relevant business metrics, and address future opportunities and pain points.
• Stay current with industry trends regarding Business Intelligence and update the business regularly.
• Support procedural control measures identified through audit, risk, and compliance observations.
• Periodically review and update RCSAs, ensuring adherence to controls.
• Engage with auditors during audits and support timely rectification of observations.
• Amend policies and procedures within the unit as needed.
• Monitor team activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and control requirements.
• Optimize and improve current BI solutions for user experience and performance.
• Document BI solutions, including data models, data flows, and report specifications.
• Establish relationships with key business representatives and provide technical support to end-users.
• Participate in management review meetings and present compliance status reports.
• Ensure timely preparation/submission of MIS/periodic reporting for management review.
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, professional conduct, ethics, and integrity.
• Follow risk, audit, compliance, and procedural control measures set by management.
• Allocate work deliverables and supervise direct reports, providing feedback and counselling.
• Support recruitment, training, and performance management of the MIS team.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

• University graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's degree in Management/Technology or related discipline is an added advantage.
• 12+ years of experience in the financial services/banking industry with responsibilities in Business Intelligence/Data and Analytics.
• Expertise in data modelling and other technical BI concepts.
• Leading a similar function recently with hands-on experience in MIS.
• ITIL/COBIT, PMP, or related certification is preferred.
