INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • The Industrial Hygienist contributes to the establishment of the project industrial hygiene management system, including hazard identification, exposure assessment and monitoring and health surveillance for NFS Onshore, in-line with Project, LNG SHES policies and procedures as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that project occupational health and hygiene management procedures are aligned with Project, and RLIC requirements as well as legal requirements of the State of Qatar. 
  • Reviews all occupational health and hygiene requirements (deliverables) for the EPC phase of the project in consideration of project requirements and regulatory bodies).
  • Ensures that EPC Contractor complies with the project requirements including industrial hygiene, food and water safety, heat stress prevention, ergonomics and camp hygiene.
  • Participates in EPC Contractor’s site and camp inspections and Company’s SHES audits.
  • Prepares inspection, audit and monthly activity reports.
  • Supports the development of a centralized database for heath surveillance of Similar Exposure Groups.
  • Contributes to periodic injury and illness statistics and analysis, developing recommendations, and reporting to project management.
  • Interfaces as key focal point between relevant health representatives including regulatory bodies.
  • Reviews EPC CONTRACTOR(s) industrial hygiene candidates to ensure they meet project requirements.


Skills

Qualification:

 

  • BSc in Health Sciences (Occupational Health, Public Health, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene), Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Health/ Biological Sciences.
  • International certification or training in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, (e.g.: NEBOSH IGC in Occupational Health and Safety, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
  • 10 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene.
  • International experience in major oil & gas or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ACGIH, NIOSH or other relevant regulations and guidelines.
