Job Summary

The Lead Cost Controller is responsible for managing, monitoring, reporting and overseeing the cost control function within an organization or business unit. Their primary role is to monitor all the on-going and planned project costs and ensure that they remain within the approved budget.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of all the cost control procedures and processes. 
  • Analyzes project cost variances and develops reports to communicate findings to stakeholders. 
  • Collaborates with project managers to develop and maintain project budgets, and guide them accordingly. 
  • Conducts cost-benefit analyses to determine the financial viability and/or impacts of projects. 
  • Leads the monitoring of the project progress and identifies potential cost overruns or delays. 
  • Manages a team of cost control professionals and provides guidance and support as needed. 
  • Ensures total compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards. 
  • Conducts regular audits of project costs to identify any discrepancies or errors. 
  • Works with other departments and stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and reduce 
  • waste. 
  • Provides training and support to staff on cost control best practices and procedures. 


Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and project management 
  • methodologies.
  • Proven experience working with cost control software and tools.

Job Experience

Minimum 10 years of total experience

Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant industry

Minimum 5 years in GCC (preferred)

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Pubic Administration or business administration, and other related field or any related field
  • Professional Qualification in PMP or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
