Senior Collections Officer

OBJECTIVE


This role within the Finance Department will be responsible for the follow up, communication and administration tasks of debt collection management of the division. This role will ensure the debt collection from contractual debtors by regular follow-ups on negotiated payment arrangements / plans or through court orders often on wide range of debtors (from single person to organizations) which involves dealing with sensitive and contentious issues on a daily basis.  This role also represents ABA Dohatna Innovation Distribution with certain government bodies and VIP customers in the private sector and plays a role in achieving the department's financial objectives. The role will also be responsible for submitting tenders respecting different prescribed guidelines specific for each tender. This role is primarily a co-ordination function between the customer, the Sales department, and Finance. Complex issues, overdue receivables, payment plan proposals, and other matters must be escalated to next level for timely action. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Collects payment with proper details from customers after issuing official receipts.

  • Arranges for the reminder letters to customers as & when required in coordination with Finance team.

  • Communicates with concerned departments of government clients to collect payment orders.

  • Remits daily collections and tallies with the invoices against receipts.

  • Update client's payment status, delay if any raise to concerned sales personnel or finance manager for further action.

  • Reports any issues, complains raised by the clients to the general manager and finance team.

  • Regularly updates client's contact on the system to ensure active communication.

  • Daily follow ups with contractual debtors for pending payments

  • Deliver payment orders to customers.

  • Contribute to the reduction in operational losses by providing efficient administrative support to the division.

  • Actively participate in key internal forums (eg AR reviews) and share information and insights with colleagues within the division.

  • Ensure timely deposit of cheques and other collections.

  • Ensure timely submission of tenders.

Skills

JOB REQUIREMENT



  • Diploma of finance or business-related courses

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar capacity in diversified business industries in GCC countries with 3 years in Qatar is a must.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic required.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel.

  • Must have GCC/QATARI Driving License
