Job Summary



  • The Structural Design Engineer performs the task of managing the documentation of the structural drawings in coordination with architectural and MEP Works. As well as designing new builds, they have to ensure older structures remain safe, and often design renovation schemes to ensure long life for existing structures.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application

and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Assists/devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations,

charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices.

  • Analyze and configure the basic structural components of a building or other structure for ensuring the quality of design
  • knowledge review the design criteria (basic structural components, geotechnical properties, wind load, seism fire protection ….) and ensure adequacy of design.
  • Analyze the structural elements to ensure the quality of the design.
  • To analyze and review the loading plan and ensure compliance with codes and the project operationa purpose.
  • To has determine the pressures that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other

parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes.

  • Ensure to study the impact of the temporary works (formwork, tower cranes foundations and supports) on the

structural elements, provide calculations, details and ensure compliance.

  • Prepare shop drawings with all necessary details in accordance to the tender drawings in order to submit to consultant for the approvals.


Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills:


  • Extensive structural knowledge for Buildings, Heavy Civils and structure strengthening .
  • Knowledge in preparing reports, designs and drawings.
  • Ability to liaise confidently with the client on structural matters.
  • Ability to review a structural problem / anomaly, determine its possible causes and make recommendations for rectification.
  • “Knowledge about CFRP is a plus”


Job Experience

Minimum 3 year(s) working experience, 2year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
