About the role:



Ensures that the airport’s commercial offering is in line with Hamad International Airport’s (HIA) strategic objectives and positioning and manages its implementation end to end. Ensures that the performance of the assigned concessions activities is realized at the most effective and profitable way, securing at all times HIA's revenues/benefits and Vendor’s contractual obligations. Exploits potential new commercial offerings enhancing further the commercial mix in the airport.



Key responsibilities


  • Accountable for all existing commercial offer, including but not limited to, retail stores, dinning, currency exchange, car rentals, hotel services, banks, airport’s car parking, etc.  by performance monitoring and revenues generation, within HIA’s footprint.
  • Optimize revenues from the concessions assigned to him/her by regularly reviewing and evaluating the agreed commercial terms with the vendors, recommending improvement modifications to vendors' operations, in order to best serve the passengers requirements and airport's commercial offer.
  • Oversee all existing monitoring systems & KPI’s and preparing analytical reports for the assigned concessions performance.
  • Regularly evaluate vendors performance, plans, procedures and practices and makes appropriate changes if needed.
  • Instruct Vendors to perform all essential adjustments/modifications (i.e. assortment, prices, offers) through their operations/unit(s) towards passengers' satisfaction and safeguard at all times Airport's revenues.
  • Conduct surveys and market analysis to provide information about passengers’ buying behavior in the airport, in order to be shared with departments and corporate purposes.
  • Participate in department’s commercial strategy for the development of new commercial areas and product/services offer and recommend the best optimum use/concept, per each available area and space.
  • Proactively act in order to propose and submit proposals and tools to improve department's operation and HIA's commercial offer.
  • Initiate the right award process, including finding a concept, potential vendors, for potential vendors to develop and operate new commercial unit(s) or service categories currently not presented in the airport.
  • Negotiate, draft and finalize the commercial agreements, renewals and terms of cooperation, in line with airport's corporate processes.
  • Be the liaison between the selected vendors and airport's competent departments for all issues related to the fit-out process and final approvals, for the operation of the new commercial space(s), areas or other facilities available for the offer of any types of commercial activities.
  • Cooperate with vendors and monitor their daily commercial activities in the airport by conducting regular meetings to secure their contractual obligations and airport’s revenue.
  • Contribution to annual budgeting process and revenues projection for the assigned product categories, based on estimated passengers' traffic and vendors’ performance.
  • Propose new revenues streams for commercial activities and concepts, in order to pioneer the airport, offer from the regional and global competition.


Skills


About you:



Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 6-8 years aviation industry (airport, airlines, concessionaires) experience in commercial/ non-aeronautical management in an international airport or in retail, commercial (leasing), real estate/ property management in managing commercial, retail units.
