Title: Estimating Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimating Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing projects, particularly in softscape and irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in analyzing project specifications, conducting comprehensive cost estimates, and coordinating with stakeholders to develop competitive bid proposals.

Responsibilities:

Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for software and irrigation projects.

Research and analyze the costs of software solutions, irrigation systems, materials, and equipment required for each project component.

Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs from project plans to determine material and equipment quantities needed.

Collaborate with project managers, software developers, irrigation specialists, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive bid proposals.

Ensure that bid proposals are competitive while meeting project requirements and profitability targets.

Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.

Assist in monitoring project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying deviations from the budget, and proposing cost-saving measures as necessary.

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and software providers to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate agreements.

Evaluate irrigation and drainage requirements for projects, including cost analysis of irrigation systems and water management technologies.

Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, budgets, pricing data, and project documentation.

Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project costs or timelines and develop mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing projects, with specific experience in software and irrigation systems.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Proficiency in project estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of irrigation systems, water management technologies, and construction practices.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
