Job Title: Senior System Admin with experience in AppDynamics and Dynatrace

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator with expertise in AppDynamics and Dynatrace to join our dynamic team. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our systems infrastructure and applications. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of the AppDynamics and Dynatrace software components. You will collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to guarantee system availability, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective monitoring strategies. Your strong problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and proactive mindset will be essential in driving our system performance to new heights.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain the infrastructure and software components necessary for the operation of AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
• Monitor and analyse system performance using AppDynamics and Dynatrace tools, promptly identifying and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies for our systems infrastructure and applications, leveraging the capabilities of AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual efforts.
• Manage system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.
• Maintain and manage servers and virtual machines, ensuring they are properly configured, patched, and optimised.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and making recommendations for improvements.
• Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to team members and end-users.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies or incidents in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on infrastructure monitoring and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing AppDynamics and Dynatrace, demonstrating a deep understanding of their functionalities and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with network protocols, security protocols, and network topology, enabling effective communication and collaboration with network teams.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, with the ability to develop and maintain automation scripts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and end-users.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
