What We Want

The Learning Laboratory Coordinator assists in the organization of undergraduate classroom instruction, computer labs, and outreach activities in mathematics. Mentor and assist with the proctoring of exams and instruction/training of undergraduate students in mathematic classes.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related experience in teaching, curriculum planning, or coordinating learning and/or lab activities.
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in teaching, curriculum planning, or coordinating student learning and/or Computer Lab activities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of Python or MATLAB or similar computer software.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or Statistics.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, Canvas.
  
  

Essential Duties/Tasks:

• Undergraduate classroom instruction in mathematics - Assist in the organization of undergraduate classroom in mathematics. Prepare and lead student study sessions and help in the evaluation of in-class assignments/projects in mathematics. Maintain office hours for individual tutoring sessions in mathematics. Keep up to date with the latest instruction’s best practices.
• Undergraduate Computer Labs - Prepare and lead computer lab sessions and help in the evaluation of computer lab homework/projects in mathematics. Maintain office hours for individual tutoring sessions corresponding to computer lab activities in mathematics. Keep up to date with the latest instruction’s best practices of computer lab in mathematics.
• Proctoring, Mentoring and Outreach - Assist in the identification, coordination, and organization of student related events, including workshops, guest-speakers, field trips, conferences, and other outreach activities in mathematics. Mentor students and proctor exams in mathematics upon faculty request.
