Job Purpose
Understand, evaluate and maintain various types of Instrumentation related data for the facility through SPI INTools
Key Accountability
Facility changes and Modifications
- Ensure that instrumentation related deliverables are updated in SPI INTools as part of the facility change process within a stipulated timeframe and per Q-Chem Process Safety Information Policy and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
- Timely updating of PSI Instrumentation deliverables like Instrument Index, Specification sheets, Junction Box & Panel Wiring drawings, Interconnection diagrams, Loop drawings, Alarm & Trip Set Controller summary, I/O assignments etc.
- Verify the changes on Instrumentation data as part of the facility change and integration including field verification as and when required.
- Responsible to provide updated SPI INTools related information for the ongoing facility Project Engineering, operation and maintenance.
- Create and maintain new instrumentation data into SPI INTools as part of facility engineering requirements.
- Issuance and maintenance of entire instrument tags in the plant through INTools without having any duplication.
Administration of SPI INTools database
- Work closely with IT & SPI INTools Contractor for the SPI System administration for data initialization, data backup, data security, and data recovery and SPI INTools periodic upgrade.
- Provide support for bulk data extraction, data retrieval, various SPI INTools Report functionalities, management of users, groups, domains, user profiles, user training, software license renewal, etc.

- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency
- Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures and instructions of Project Engineering Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Instrument and Electrical Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Qatarization
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Required: 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation
Experience
- Required: Total of 3-5 years of experience in the O&G Industry
- Preferred: Experience in Petrochemicals Industry
Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations
- Hands-on experience in using SPI INTools
